Appointments

The Practice offers an open access service Monday to Friday across the three sites.

All Patients are required to be in attendence 15 minutes prior to the surgery starting times.

Extended Hours

Late evening surgeries are offered at Lundwood Medical Centre Monday and Tuesday Evenings at 6.30pm. These surgeries are by appointment only and are aimed at our patients who have difficulty attending during normal working hours.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Extended out of hours appointments with GP's or Advanced Practitioners

i-Heart is a free service available to anyone registered with a Barnsley-based GP.

This service provides same day appointments with a GP or Advanced Practitioner during evenings, weekends and bank holidays, which are are available in locations throughout Barnsley.

Appointment opening times:

Monday - Friday:       6:30pm - 10:30pm

Saturday & Sunday: 10:00am - 1:00pm

Bank holidays:         10:00 - 1:00pm

Appointmenst can be booked via telephone between : 4:00pm - 6:00pm (Mon - Fri) & 8:00am - 9:30am ( weekends and bank holidays)

Evening and Weekend Appointments

Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an evening appointment to see a GP Monday and Tuesday evenings from  6:30pm at Lundwood Medical Centre.

By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
